The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton is a very interesting book. The book starts out while ponyboy is walking home from the movie house. he doesn't like to go to the movie house with other people because some of the people he would go with dont like movies like he does. He is walking home by himself and while walking he had seen a corvier following him. He was about a few blocks from his house and five soc's (the rival gang) got out of the car and went over to him and asked him questions like "you need a haircut greaser?" and one pulled out a knife and he started to back up and he ran into another one of then and in seconds they had him on the ground. They were punching him and when they hit him he started to swear at them and then the one with the knife said to him "how'd you like that haircut to start right below the chin?" and it occured to jim that they would have killed him. He then heard running footsteps and the soc's got into the car and left. He was picked up by darry his older brother and he was shaking ponyboy. He asked him if he was o.k and he said he was. That is just the begginning of the book and i think that it is going to be a very interesting and cool book. I think The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton is going to be a great and interesting book because of the the information that i stated above.
the socials ran into johnny and ponyboy started to fight them so when the fight was going on one of the socials tryed to KILL PONYBOY WIH A KNIFE SO PONYBOY IS TRYING TO FIGHTT FOR HIS LIFE AND IS STRUGALING WITH THE SOCIAL AND PONY BOY STABS HIM ON ACCIDENT AND EVERYONE STOPS AND THE SOCIALS AND THE GREASERS ARE SHOCKED AT WHAT HAPPEN.AFTER EVERYONE SCATERS PONYBOY GOES TO DALLAS WHO IS A OLDER KID WHO IS PONYBOYS BROTHER TO TRY AND HIDE HIM AND JOHNNY.
Think about Darry as a character and person. Evaluate and analyze Darry's actions: taking in his brothers, not going to college, hounding Pony about school and staying safe...
Or think about Dallas. Evaluate and analyze Dally's actions like: going into the church after Pony and Johnny, helping Pony and Johnny, Dally's reaction in the hospital...
I am able to relate to Ponyboy boy because i know what it is like to have so much expected out of you like his brother Derral does to him. Alot of the time his brother expects hi to get good grades. if he gets b's he wants him to have A's. if he has A's he wants him to keep them that way. That is what it is like with my dad. he expects me to do everything.
Another way i am able to relate to Pony Boy because my sister is over protective just like his big brother. She is so over protective that she has ruined so many friendships for me. when she tries to help she ends up making someone mad at me and they usually never end up talking to me ever again. i know she tries to help but it doesnt help. i dont know how much more i can take of this.
the girls that ponyboy were talking to were Cherry and Marcia and they were all talking. in the book it said that they were socs and that made me think about why the girls were talking to him because they were from differnet gangs. and they asked about his brother who was a dropout and ponyboy hates the fact that he is a dropout because when he thinks about dropouts he thinks about homeless people and bums that are like uneducated and poor so he really hates the fact that his brother is a highschool dropout.
It seems like all the things he does are never good enough and everything is his fault when something goes wrong. everytime i do something good it seems like it is never good enough in my dads eyes. every time something goes wrong in my house it is always my fault i know just how Pony boy feels
I know how it feels to have someone not care about you but they just deal with you because of someone close to you. his brother soda's one friend doesnt like Pony but he just deal with him because he is soda's little brother. my sister's boy friend really dosent care about me but he just deals with because he likes my sister and i dont really care about him because he treats me like im nothing and he is always controlling me and telling me what to do and putting me down infront of my girlfriend and friends and he has her blind and she dosent relize it.
I feel as that its not nice but respectful to just deal with him and not be rude about it but that it is not nice to let everyone know he doesnt like him. Evan Ponyboy knows that he doesnt like him and so its not really a big deal to even say something to eachother. They get along enough to stand eachother to so that is gud because they are like a big family and they shouldnt let anyone ruin it.
